One of the best universities in Italy, the University of Pisa is one of the oldest universities in the world, and its foundations were laid in 1343. Galileo Galilei, one of the most famous mathematicians in history as well as many Nobel Prize winners, was born and raised in Pisa, studied at the University of Pisa and became a professor in 1589. Pisa is a city in the Tuscany region of Northern Italy, the capital of the province of Pisa. The famous Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Pisa Cathedral and baptistery, along with the "Piazza del Duomo" area, have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1987.

Preparatory Course:
The Foundation Course offered by the University of Pisa is a study programme taught primarily in English and covering various fields of study. It is primarily aimed at candidates who do not have the minimum school requirements (12 years) required by current legislation for university entrance. Students who successfully complete the Foundation Course can apply for a first degree programme at the University of Pisa without having to pass the Italian language exam normally required for non-EU students.

Master:
Generally, the required level of English is B2. For this, TOEFL, IELTS exams can be offered or an interview can be held via Skype. There is no minimum grade point average (GPA) required to apply to the programs.
