Founded in 1884, Ellesmere College is an independent day and boarding school located in the Shropshire region of England, educating students aged 7-18. The school, which has a large and green campus of approximately 160 acres (65 hectares), offers its students a comprehensive educational environment where they can develop academic success, personal development, sports, art and leadership skills together.
Educating international students for many years, Ellesmere College brings together students from different countries in a multicultural learning environment, preparing them for both university education and global career goals. GCSE is a two-year academic program for students aged 14-16. In addition to compulsory courses such as English, Mathematics and Science, students build their pre-university academic infrastructure by taking elective courses according to their interests. GCSE results play an important role in students' transition to the A Level or IB Diploma Programme.
Pre-Sixth Programme
Pre-Sixth Programme is a one-year preparatory program for international students who have just joined the British education system or want to improve their English and academic skills. Within the scope of the program, students prepare for the A Level or IB Diploma Program by receiving support in the fields of academic English, Mathematics, Science and study skills.
A Level
A Level is a two-year university preparation program offered for students between the ages of 16-18. Students typically choose three or four courses tailored to their career goals and receive in-depth training in those areas. The A Level diploma is accepted by many universities around the world, especially in the United Kingdom.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme
IB Diploma Programme is a two-year academic program recognized worldwide. While students receive education from six different course groups; They also complete Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) components, which develop research, critical thinking, social responsibility, and academic writing skills. The IB Diploma is recognized as a highly respected international qualification by the world's leading universities.
BTEC Sport
BTEC Sport is an applied training program designed for students interested in areas such as sports management, coaching, sports science and performance analysis. In addition to theoretical knowledge, courses are supported by project studies, practical training and sector experiences. The program provides a strong academic foundation for students seeking university education in sports science and related fields.

Application Conditions
Ellesmere College accepts students based on their academic achievements, English levels and school evaluation process. During the application, students are asked for school grades from previous years and necessary documents. For international students, an online or face-to-face interview is also applied for English and mathematics assessment.

Language Requirement
There is no official IELTS or TOEFL requirement.
The school determines the student's English level through examination and examination conducted within the scope of its own evaluation process. It is determined by interview.
A good level of English (approximately CEFR B2 level) is recommended for students who will start the A Level or IB program.
Entrance Exam
The school's entrance exam is taken for Years 6–9 applications.
For international students, an interview is held together with the Mathematics and English exam.
Entrance exam is not applied for Sixth Form (A Level) applications. Students receive conditional offer based on their GCSE or equivalent exam results.
Exam Date: It is held on the first Saturday of February every year.
Who Takes? Students who will apply for Year 6, Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9.
Exam Content: English and Mathematics evaluations.
International Students: In addition to the English and Mathematics exam, an online or face-to-face interview is held.
Students Who Do Not Pass: Candidates who apply late may be re-evaluated on a different date if the school deems it appropriate.

Ellesmere College offers modern and safe boarding accommodation for international students. Students stay in boarding houses separated by age groups and are supported 24 hours a day by experienced Housemaster and Housemistress teams. Rooms are single or double and some rooms have a private bathroom. Wi-Fi access, common work areas, lounges and kitchens are available to students throughout the campus.
Ellesmere College is located in the historic town of Ellesmere in Shropshire, England. The campus is located less than 100 kilometers from the cities of Manchester and Birmingham, offering students a safe and natural learning environment.
