Preparatory Program 

It is applied for international students who have the right to enter a university in Germany but whose level of German is not yet sufficient.

A high school diploma must provide the right to enter university education in Germany.
For a high school diploma obtained abroad, a VPD (Pre-Assessment Certificate) must be obtained from uni-assist.
It is not mandatory for the German language to be at C1 level at the time of application.
At least 20 hours of intensive work per week at a language school in Bremen. It is necessary to register for the German course.
The language course must last at least 3 months each semester.
HSB does not offer a German preparation course within its own organization.
The preparation period can be a maximum of 4 semesters / 2 years.
In order to pass to the undergraduate degree after the preparation, for example, at least 16 points from TestDaF, Goethe C1, telc C1 Hochschule or an accepted equivalent German document is required.

Important: Preparation. Upon completion of the program, the student does not automatically start the undergraduate degree. After meeting the German language requirement, he/she must also apply to the undergraduate program of his/her choice. It must also meet the specific requirements of the relevant undergraduate program.

Undergraduate Programs

Academic requirements
High school diploma or an equivalent diploma (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung) that provides the right to enter a university in Germany.
For students applying from Türkiye, the equivalent of the high school diploma in Germany must be evaluated by uni-assist.
For this, VPD is first obtained.
VPD application takes approximately 4–6 weeks. Early application is recommended as it may take time.

Language requirement for German programs

C1 German is required in most of the programs.

Main documents accepted:

English programs

German language requirement is not required for programs conducted entirely in English. Instead, a certificate of English at the level determined by the program is required. English requirement varies from department to department.

Application process

General process for students who complete their education abroad:

1. uni-assist → VPD application
2. Retrieval of VPD
3. Hochschulstart registration
4. Application via HSB's CampInO system
5. Admission → registration procedures

HSB's general application dates:

Winter term: 1 June – 15 July
Summer term: 15 December – 15 January

Master's Programs

General academic conditions

According to the general rule of HSB, master's degree In their applications:

Undergraduate diploma in a related or related field

Generally, the undergraduate graduation grade must be 2.5 or better
Meeting the minimum ECTS / credit requirement required by the program
Meeting the language requirement determined by the program
Work/internship experience in some programs
Having taken certain academic courses in some programs

is required. However, each master's program has different admission requirements.

Language requirement

Varies depending on the language of instruction of the master's degree:

German programs: A German proficiency certificate is usually required.

English programs: The English level determined by the program is required. For example, in some English master's programs, B2 levels may be required, and in some programs, higher levels may be required.
