Founded in 1975, the University of Bayreuth (University of Bayreuth – Universität Bayreuth) is a public university located in the city of Bayreuth in the Bavarian state of southern Germany. Operating in the fields of scientific research, education and social services, the university has six faculties: Business and Economics, Law, Mathematics and Informatics, Engineering, Philosophy and History, and Biology, Chemistry and Earth Sciences. These faculties offer undergraduate, graduate and doctoral level education programs.

Bayreuth About

Bayreuth is a university town with a population of approximately 75,000 located in northern Bavaria. The city is especially known for Richard Wagner and the Bayreuth Festival. Due to the high student population, social and cultural opportunities for students in the city are highly developed. Accommodation and daily living costs are more affordable compared to big cities such as Munich.

Bayreuth is also advantageous for students in terms of cycling, walking and outdoor activities, as it is a city intertwined with nature.
