The Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University) is a well-established state research university located in Moscow and popular with international students. It was founded in 1960 by the Soviet government to provide high-quality education to students, especially from Asia, Africa and Latin America, and to support countries that gained independence. The university gained worldwide recognition during the period it was named after Patrice Lumumba (1960-1992) and later under its current name (RUDN).
It is ranked 295th in the QS World University Rankings as of 2025 (317th and 326th in previous years).
It is in the top 1000 of the Times Higher Education rankings.

Admission rules
Collection of documents required for admission: a copy of a valid international passport, a certificate of graduation and transcript, a certificate of recognition, a photo (3x4 cm). All documents must be translated into Russian and certified by a notary or consulate.
Entrance exams. Exams can be held remotely (online) or with the candidate's personal participation (offline).
