Education

Bandon Grammar School implements the Irish Ministry of National Education curriculum and aims to provide its students with critical thinking, independent learning, leadership and social responsibility skills as well as academic success. It consists of 3 interconnected periods: Lower Secondary Education Program (Junior Cycle), Transition Year and Senior Cycle.

-Lower Secondary Education Program (3 years): It is the first stage of secondary education and is the program in which basic academic knowledge and skills are gained.
-Transition Year Program (1 year): It is a transition year that aims for students to gain personal development, leadership, social responsibility and work experience.
-Upper. Secondary Education Program (2 years): This is the program in which students prepare for Leaving Certificate exams and university education.

Additional Fees 

-A non-refundable application fee of €500 is charged.

-After acceptance, a deposit of €3,000 is required to finalize the registration process.

-Since MLI offices are closed during the Christmas holiday period, students are advised to plan their flights early.

-Some schools may request an additional security deposit or reservation fee.

-Students' school trips, It is recommended that they allocate additional budget for uniforms, textbooks and personal expenses.

Admission Requirements

-Complete application form.

-Payment of the non-refundable application fee of €100.

-Submission of academic achievement documents (transcripts/report cards) for the last years.

-Submission of passport photocopy.

-Evaluation of the application according to quota status.

-Online or face-to-face meeting with the student and the parent, if deemed necessary.

-Completing the registration process and paying the relevant fees after acceptance.

-For international students, there must be a local guardian in Ireland. The school provides guidance on experienced guardian organizations upon request.

Bandon Grammar School offers students a boarding life that reflects a safe, warm and family atmosphere. Male students are accommodated in separate boarding houses called Roundhill House and female students are accommodated in separate boarding houses called Richmount House. While the school offers 5-day and 7-day boarding accommodation options, both programs support students' academic success as well as their social, emotional and cultural development. Students staying in small rooms are supervised 24 hours a day by experienced Houseparents and the boarding life team; They continue their education life in a safe and supportive environment where they can feel at home.
