English Preparation

CTU does not have an official English Pathway / English Preparation Program for this program before undergraduate degree.

The required English proficiency must be documented during the application.

Transition to the Department

Since there is no preparatory program, students are expected to meet the direct application requirements.




Professional Pilot program

The main purpose of the program is;

Professional pilot.

To teach the technical infrastructure of the aviation industry,

To prepare students for EASA standards,

To reach the level of knowledge that can understand airline operations.

Training does not only consist of flight techniques. Students also receive training on subjects such as;

Air transportation,

Safety management,

Aviation management,

Human performance,

Flight safety,

Risk management,

Aircraft systems

Note: Flight training fee is not paid to Czech Technical University. The student chooses one of the university's contracted flight schools (DSA or F AIR) and makes the payment directly to the relevant flight school. The price stated may not include fuel, landing fees and some additional operational expenses. Therefore, the total cost may vary depending on the flight school's current pricing.

Educational background

-High school diploma (graduate certificate) must be submitted no later than the day of the entrance exam
-Nostrification (equivalence of the foreign diploma to the Czech system) is required for graduates from abroad — this is done through the ÇVÜT rectorate

Language requirement

-At least B2 level in English
-Ways of proof: international certificate (IELTS, TOEFL etc.), previous education in English certificate, or taking the university's own English exam
- The certificate must be taken no more than 5 years before the application date


Entrance Exam

Mathematics exam: 70 minutes, 15 questions, multiple choice — maximum 20 points
English exam: 60 minutes — maximum 20 points
Total maximum score: 40
Minimum total score for admission: 20
At least 7 points in Mathematics
At least 7 points in English
(It is mandatory to achieve the minimum score in both exams separately — even if one is low and the other is high, you can be eliminated)

Exam location: Prague
Exam date (2026-2027 period): 1–26 June 2026
Make-up/alternative exam date (for those with an excuse): 25 August – 11 September 2026

Medical Requirement
-Class 1 Medical Certificate mandatory before starting flight training (must be issued in accordance with EASA, FAA or DGCA standards)
-If you have a non-EASA certificate, you must obtain a new EASA compliant certificate at the Institute of Aviation Medicine in Prague or in another EU country. The cost of this certificate belongs to the student, the university does not cover it.

Theoretical courses of the Professional Pilot program of the Czech Technical University in Prague are given in Prague within the Faculty of Transportation Sciences. The faculty is located close to the city center and offers easy transportation by metro and tram.

The practical flight training of the program is carried out in the university's contracted flight schools. Flight training is mainly carried out by DSA and F AIR in accordance with EASA standards at suitable airports around Prague.
