Riga Stradinš University (RSU) is a prestigious public university located in the capital of Latvia, Riga. It was established in 1950 and initially named the Riga Medical Institute, later adopting its current name in 1998. RSU has a strong academic background, particularly in the fields of medicine and health sciences, but also offers education in other disciplines such as social sciences and natural sciences. As of 2024, the university has 12,007 students, of which 3,068 are international students. RSU is internationally recognized and ranks between 951 and 1000 in the QS World University Rankings for 2025. The university offers research-based, high-quality, export-oriented higher education in health and social sciences. RSU is the only university integrated with the Latvian healthcare system and plays a key role in training healthcare professionals.
