General Information About Rmıt University(Pilotluk)

RMIT University is one of Australia's most established universities of technology and applied sciences. The Bachelor of Aviation (Pilot Training) program offers academic undergraduate education and professional pilot training together.

Students mainly complete their theoretical courses at the Melbourne City Campus and their flight training at Point Cook or Bendigo flight training centers. Flight training is carried out within the scope of RMIT's Associate Degree in Aviation (Professional Pilots) programme.

Flight Training

RMIT conducts flight training within the scope of its own flight program.

Within the scope of standard training;

There is a total of 153.6 hours of flight training, including 83.6 hours of dual control (Dual Flight)

70 hours of single pilot (Solo Flight).

If the student cannot reach the required proficiency, additional flight hours are charged separately.

Pilotage Program

During the program, students receive both academic and flight training.

Within the scope of the program, students;

Students who successfully complete the preparatory education can start their undergraduate education when they meet the success conditions determined by the program.

Official translations when necessary
CASA Class 1 Medical Certificate (in order to progress to flight training)

Health Requirements

Pilot students must obtain a CASA Class 1 Medical Certificate in order to continue flight training.

This medical report is only authorized by CASA. May be issued by Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME) doctors. The student organizes the examination himself and pays the fee himself. RMIT recommends having this examination before starting the program.

Additional supplements when necessary blood, urine, ECG or specialist physician evaluations




Entry Process to the Department

1. Application

Firstly, an application is made to RMIT University's Bachelor of Aviation (Pilot Training) program.

The following documents are generally requested during the application:

High school diploma

Transcript (Transcript)

Passport

English proficiency certificate (IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic etc.)

Applications can be made through RMIT's online application system. is done.

2. Evaluation of the Application

The University evaluates the application according to the following criteria:

Academic proficiency

Meeting the mathematics prerequisite

Meeting the English language requirement

Program quota

There is no separate written exam, interview or aptitude test for this program. Applications are finalized by document evaluation.

3. Evaluation of English Level

The English exam result submitted during the application is examined.

If the English language requirement is met

The student can be directly accepted to the Bachelor of Aviation (Pilot Training) program.

If the English language requirement is not met

The student may be directed to the RMIT UP Academic English program if deemed appropriate.

After the program is successfully completed and the necessary transition conditions are met, the student can be transferred to the undergraduate program.

4. Foundation Requirement

Students who do not meet the academic entry requirements cannot directly start the undergraduate program.

In this case, after successfully completing the RMIT Foundation Studies program, the student can transfer to the undergraduate program if he/she meets the necessary success conditions.

5. Meeting the Health Requirement

Before starting pilot training, it is recommended that students obtain a CASA Class 1 Medical Certificate.

Without this health certificate, flight training cannot continue and pilot license stages cannot be completed.

6. Beginning of Training

Admitted students begin their training after completing the registration process.

Theoretical courses: Melbourne City Campus

Flight training: Point Cook or Bendigo flight training centers

During the program, students carry out both academic courses and flight training together.
